La Petite Mort 'Port' style
In 2018, a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon was co-fermented. Before fermentation completed, distillate was added to fortify the wine and create a port-style expression. In 2024, two barrels of 2022 Zinfandel were incorporated into the blend, which was then aged for three months on American oak to enhance complexity and develop a richer, bolder mouthfeel.
Boasting luxurious layers of dark chocolate, espresso, & black licorice with not-so-subtle hints of white pepper on the finish. This elegant and powerful 'Port" style brings together the warmth of select vintages. Crafted with 47% Zinfandel, 40% Merlot, and 13% Cab Sauv.
